Q&A with our founder Amy
With so many exciting plans for Woofwolds in the very near future, we thought we had better pin down their founder, Amy Williams, to get the full scoop on what members can expect in 2025.
Thanks so much for taking the time out of your very busy schedule, Amy!
Q: Tell me about what Woofwolds members can expect next year, Amy?
There are going to be a host of exciting new services for our members, including the launch of our luxurious flagship facility here in the Cotswolds. We will be able to offer daycare, boarding and grooming, as well providing a dedicated wellbeing clinic. We are also going to launch our digital membership which will feature a range of exclusive content as well as expert canine advice and member only perks. It’s going to be such an exciting – and very busy – year!
Q: What part of the business are you most excited about?
Our wellbeing clinic is going to be so wonderful and it will really help to enhance our continuing mission to provide premium, holistic care for every Woofwolds dog.
Q: That sounds fantastic. What sort of services will the clinic be offering?
There will be a whole range of holistic options from hydrotherapy, physio, allergy testing, nutritional guidance and behavioural advice to more fun options like Doga (doggie yoga – if you haven’t tried it, you must!) It will be led by two experts in the field, Dr Marvin Firth and Paul Aggarwal and I can’t think of a better place for a dog to get the sort of specialist care they deserve.
Q: Can you tell me a little bit more about the Woofwolds site?
Yes, I would love to. It’s such a beautiful, peaceful setting, right in the heart of the Cotswolds and not far from Soho Farmhouse, Estelle Manor and Daylesford. We feel so lucky to be able to provide the dogs with such a perfect location. There are big green open spaces for them to run around in and play together, as well as our on-site wellness and boarding facility. It really is going to be such a happy place.
Q: And I hear you have a pretty snazzy van to transport the dogs there?
We do! In fact, you can read more about it here (link to blog)
Q: So, tell me what sort of person would benefit from the Woofwolds service?
Woofwolds was designed for the discerning dog owner, the sort of person who values exceptional care for their dogs, but also needs the ease and convenience that our service will provide. We cater to local members of luxury clubs, like Soho Farmhouse, who would like their dogs exercised while they are socialising or at the gym. We would also be ideal for frequent travellers who need a dependable solution for their dogs while they are away. It’s never easy leaving your dog behind, but Woofwolds will be a home away from home in every sense and we will aim to take away some of the worry and guilt that we feel when we have to go away. Woofwolds really is a service for anyone who prioritises consistent, reliable, high end care for their dogs, which, as far as I can tell from talking to my friends and people locally, is all dog owners!
Q: So what inspired you to start this business?
My love for dogs has always been a driving force in my life, and looking back, I think it was inevitable that I would end up doing something like this! After moving out of London and up here to the Cotswolds, I saw a clear gap in the market for a high-end service that truly prioritises the care, comfort, and well-being of our dogs. Like many owners, I have struggled to find the level of attention and care I wanted for my own pets, and I have often felt let down by what is available. The quality just wasn’t there.
My partner James and I also share a deep love for the countryside. We both grew up in rural settings and James has a farming background, so we have an inbuilt respect for the environment and understand the workings of the countryside. It is really important to us that Woofwolds reflects these values and passions and that sustainability is at the heart of what we do. So we have always appreciated the tranquillity and opportunities the countryside offers, and it’s important to us that Woofwolds reflects these values by creating a natural, enriching environment for dogs.
With the growing demand for premium, reliable pet services, we were inspired to create Woofwolds—a brand that combines compassion, consistency, and expertise to offer an elevated experience for dogs and their owners. Woofwolds is our way of setting a new standard in dog care, ensuring every pet receives the love and attention they deserve, all while embracing and respecting the countryside we hold dear.
Q: Tell me about your team members?
We’re currently in the exciting process of building our team, and the wonderful people we already have on board all share a deep passion for dogs and animal care. They’re all as enthusiastic as I am about creating Woofwolds and helping to make it the amazing place we know it can be.
Our team will be constantly growing, and we’re thrilled to welcome new talent as we expand. Be sure to check out the Team section to meet our current members and stay updated on our latest additions!
Q: How are you planning to expand in the future?
We have big plans for the future, including expanding to additional locations and introducing even more premium services to enhance the Woofwolds experience. All I can say is watch this space!
Q: Can you give me a tip for a great dog-friendly pub in the Cotswolds?
There are so many! We actually have a feature in our latest newsletter about great winter walks with local dog-friendly pubs to pop into along the way. Personally we love The Bell at Langford, renowned for its fantastic food and dog-friendly atmosphere. They have water bowls and treats for dogs which is always a good sign! We also really love The Fish Hotel in Broadway for an overnight stay or two. The Fish really goes above and beyond for dog owners—our room even came complete with dog beds and towels! They have a dog agility course on-site and the area is surrounded by beautiful countryside walks so it really is a dog-lovers dream mini break.
Q: Do you have a favourite dog breed?
That’s so hard as I love them all, but being more of a big dog person, Labradors win every time for me. Sorry small dogs!
Q: What are you getting your dogs for Christmas, Amy?
Aside from working really hard to create Woofwolds for them and all their friends, Bernard will get a new toy as he absolutely has to carry one with him at all times! Beethoven will get something nice and tasty as food is his one true love! We have written about some great last-minute Christmas ideas here if you need any inspiration. I want the whole list!
Q: And finally, what are your Christmas plans?
We are hosting our families this year, which we are all really excited about. There is always a big dog walk on Christmas day, followed by lots of food and games. The perfect Christmas.
